Another BIKE FOR PEACE 2010 -late- update.

As of this post, I am no longer touring the states. However, I do choose to continue updating this blog as time and motivation permits. So, without further delay. Here is another tale of harrowing adventure brought to you by the BIKE FOR PEACE 2010 kids...

(put on dream helmets ....now)

JULY--24th (still not in the thik of it yet)
Thank you Kat at the FLuX Theater in Oakland for the couch.
Thank you Black Dot Cafe for the copious amounts of food, also out of Oak.

Met up with J London and his statue and took a flick, waiting to meet up with Vern, Ron and Yaney. Feeling very hyped and glad to finally meet we all sashayed to the dinner at the BDC. Heck Ron and I even bough some fryed rice. Acceptable.
Ron- "Sore butts and Full Guts".

We all broke and planned to meet up at 8am to ride and eventually meet up with a support crew and their ilk and make a day of it.

Flux Theater was where i found my couch for the night. Finding this company took almost 3 hours of exploring the Oakland lake side, up until I finally asked some bros at a tattoo shot how far I was in correlation. I was far off from reaching my destination.
I called WhoopKat numerous timed to get coordinated and finally hopped on the BART and jammed out and away from the cold night.

JULY 25th
Im off and out the Flux by 5am to catch the Bart and meet up Jacob London Square in the Oak. Crispy ass morning and not to much people out so I had the majority of the road to scorch as I saw fit.

*** We cheated a little and took the train to catch up on the lost time and met up with the Wheelmen***
All the above mentioned where present minus I believe one, who would meet up later.
I suffered a little on the initial breaking in of my bike Thiberuex the luggage and I as well.
The human body is so amazing in how it can change to suit and adapt to any climate. It is the most versatile piece of bio-organic assemblage that I have every had the blessing to own and operate, out-right.

2, flat tires and allot of slow pace up the hill out of Montrose, California. Most of the Wheelmen had taken no time in displaying their prowess in leaving other bikers behind, mainly the touring folk who had to carry all their possessions. (we had no SAG support at this time)
I saw bike computers fall out of pockets of the speedy cyclist, Ron and I just laughed as I cracked jokes at the circumstantials of the "un-weighted cyclists".

I saw a parked oil tanker while passing over one freeway bridge. I felt like pipe bombing something that moment, yet the view from above was pacifying me to move along.

We managed to make out of the dogged freeway and trundle ourselves into the farmlands where the heat of midday would be equal to say, the dangers of falling off a precipice.

I was not prepared correctly enough to veer from becoming hungry and losing energy, but Ron and Vern, bless them, they were versed in finding food along the way, in trees and nuts (Handlebar food).
Forge on, peddle and Muddle on through the heat and severely sweaty day. Conversation where nill and narrowed down to subjects like water, and you would often hear me say "I'm thirsty, hungry, and tired",
"time for a break".

My layered clothing soon began to peel off my sweaty carcass, one by one. (overdressed and maybe not the right gear).

We were warned continuously by Vern to never pour water on top of out head, or we would get tung lashed, if he saw anyone do that.

I saw every piece of shade made from a tree, as if it were a pool of cool refreshing darkness, out of the sun rays. I wanted to lay down in the darkness. I even began to think of ways to find extra water, like dig a deep hole and throw cool dirt upon myself like elephants do to cool off.
One time we all figured to rest in a shady spot in some persons yard and use their water hose and cool off, but though it could have the potential to become perilous.
Maybe we could of had an epic WATER FIGHT!

I ended the day become head achy from being to dehydrated.
*It is said that humans do not drink nearly enough water to keep hydrated*

I mean WATER not soda. Gatorade is acceptable yes maybe but only if your being ACTIVE like they perceive so in their commercials. You know?

It is also not wise to drink energy drinks as that may prove to be your downfall in terms of giving you a heart attack and or become diagnosed as having diabetes...

DONT DRIVE TOO MUCH OF THAT CRAPPY ASS CAR.
BIKE TO WORK ONCE A WEEK.
.......see you on the pathways.....
